What an amazing adventure. This is an original musical and media performance created by the Bridgetown Reperatory Club and BridgeFM. Walk Awhile in my Blues was performed in Nov. - Dec. 2003 at the Bridgetown Reperatory Theatre.

Kim Perrier creates a montage of video, filmed to reflect each songs lyrics reflecting the intricate media presentation projected on a 3 mtr. background.

Walk Awhile in my Blues illustrates that staged musicals can become a visual feast for live music performances. The video was filmed locally and almost entirely within the Shire with exception to appropriate pieces for the story line.

Christian Jones recorded and mastered all the music for The DVD and Video and fund-raiser CD Collectable, of the performance for BridgeFM. All the musicians have gratefully waived any royalty as the CD became another of BridgeFM's product range.

This multi media presentation was a first for the Repertory Theatre.

The music video and DVD of "Walk Awhile in my Blues" has also become an ongoing fund-raiser product for BridgeFM. This includes all of the songs in the CD and Performance and is a one hour production by Perrier Studios for BridgeFM.

BridgFM will be entering the Music Video into national media awards as we believe that it is worthy of further recognition.

This collaborative production was originally conceived by Dr.Chris Shedley as an alternative to the Rep. Clubs annual Christmas Pantomime.

A core group comprising of Nigel Creasey, Yvonne Foley, Christian Jones, Andrea Miolin, Kim Perrier, Alana Shedley, Chris Shedley, Steve Schrama and Guy Wardell-Johnson met weekly to develop the story, musical elements, and media concepts.

The Musical Play can be called nothing less than "outstanding" for a small amateur community group to have successfully created so much magic and be ready on the opening night.

9 of the 15 original songs were created for the musical which takes the audience on a journey of self discovery as the play explores the healing power of love, friendship and the power of music.

A brief description of the Musical

Brett Thompson is a third generation farmer who is cruising through life.

He has a very capable fiancée, Fiona, seasons and prices have been good and he is pretty happy with life.

Brett's Dad is getting on and his health is failing, but he is confident
of his son, with the help of Fiona, will make a go of the farm.

Fiona has dreams of her own, which involve two year's of full time viticulture study in Adelaide.

Brett is reluctantly supportive to start with, but gradually things start going wrong.

Prices are way down, Brett loses confidence and when a couple of disasters befall him including the death of his father, he decides to lease the farm to a Blue Gum Company.

This leads to a near break-up of his relationship with Fiona and Brett falls into a drunken depression.

It brings a message of hope for people in a similar situation.
