Present:
John Nelson, Mike Nix, Deb Barden, Marie Perrier, Kim Perrier, Christian
Jones, Phillipe Kaltenieder
Kim opened
meeting, welcome everyone.
Mike registered
bridgefm.org.au, should be running this week
Kim: Live
broadcast was postponed due to bad weather, is now scheduled for Fri
May 30th. Need to organise survey, banner and entertainment.
John: has
written half of survey, will work on something for the broadcast.
Kim: "
The survey is a big thing ", asked John if he would like some assistance
on the project. John Owen is suggested and John Nelson has agreed to
contact him to organise a Marketing Survey. Marie will also come on
board to establish a Sub Comitee.
Kim: John
Owen, wanted to know what his return on investment would be, this led
to Kim discussing the vision statement " We need this just as a
Corporation would have a prospectus. ". He would like to produce
a 5 year goal, starting with Stage 1 - Studio and Equipment, and to
move on through with Products. Advertising is only a part of our Products,
and Kim would like to push forward into the realm of selling music via
the internet and keep options open for other products within the Bridge
FM range.
John: Pointed
out that we cannot sell advertising to pay for capital equipment, this
will leave us with no cash flow when station is operational. "
We simply need money as sponsorship / donation to establish station
" John also discussed plans to establish team of trained people
to conduct survey and sponsorship program.
Phillipe:
Suggested 2 separate surveys for Business and General Public, so as
to target separate identities. Once we are broadcasting to run Radiothon
for additio1nal and ongoing funding.
The discussion then
led to equipment needed for station.
Christian:
Suggested to visit company in Sth Guidford to get an idea of what we
need They suggest in their advertisement to drop in for a coffee and
chat when in Perth.
Elan Audio - Suppliers of PoulKirk Broadcast equipment
2 Steel Court, South Guildford, WA 6055, Ph: 92773500, www.elan.com.au
John: Has
contacted a considerable amount of stations since the last meeting.
RTR FM have stuff available for a fee. There is a company in London
who can supply the equipment we need for 1000 pound, although company
sounds a little suspect.
Deb: Has
a friend who has an interest in Alltronics in Perth, and they may be
able to help with supply of gear. Deb will contact them.
Phillipe:
Suggested to contact Ham Radio Clubs, as they will know, what we need,
and where to get it.
Discussion then
moved onto organising a Fund Raising event.
Looking at renewing
Jam Session after it has finished next month, there has been discussion
with the Band from the Pub to organised a joint effort at the Bridgetown
Gardens, the band has already booked the venue for the 4th July, they
will take bar, we will take the door. After some discussion, it was
felt that Bridge FM should not at this time set any precendence with
organising such events with individuals as we would not want to appear
bias in any way.
Conversation then
led to us putting on our own event, staged as a showcase of local entertainment.
We would supply, food and alcohol and provide space for entertainers
to perform.
Musicians would
be supplied in return for their effort, a recoded CD of the nights performance,
to be used as Promotion for their work, Web promotion via the Bridge
FM site and also local promotion.
Areas to be co-ordinated
are;
Sound and Artists - Christian
Venue - Marie
Promotion - Christian ( to be organised B4 next meeting )
Alcohol and Catering - Yet to be organised
A date to work towards
is set at 9th August
Discussion then
started to wind down towards end of meeting.
Kim: Would
like to make a big push on the Web Newsletter, " This is the only
live to air forum we have at the moment " and suggested we set
up a forum for local discussion, and would like to have the mailbag
online.
Next meeting is
set for June 3rd 2003 at John Nelsons house, 63 Blechyndon Street
Bridgetown at 7.00pm
